Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: STEREO A
Event Time: 2024-03-03T05:58Z ( STEREO A: IMPACT )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: IMPACT
STEREO A: PLASTIC
Activity ID: 2024-03-03T05:58:00-IPS-001 (version 1)
Quality of ICME Signature: 2 (clear signatures)
Note: Characterized by a rapid jump in Bt from around 4 nT to 10 nT, slowly rising to a peak of around 18nT by 2024-03-03T12:00Z with a long, sustained southward Bz reaching -15nT. This is likely the main arrival of CME 2024-02-28T17:48Z, but analysis is ongoing to determine any potential influence by additional CMEs from 2024-02-28. This IPS is likely associated with a similar, less direct hit IPS at L1 at 2024-03-03T08:47Z.
